Supporting Families, Supporting Clients

At the heart of recovery lies the family. Whether working with residential, outpatient, or virtual organizations, I specialize in creating comprehensive family programming designed to empower and support those closest to the client. While many programs incorporate a family therapy component, that can be difficult to scale and challenging to make real headway in the short period of time the individual with Substance Use Disorder is engaged in treatment. Providing family centered education can equip your clients’ loved ones to participate in your clinical offerings more meaningfully and help ensure the family system of your client is equipped to take better care of themselves and offer more effective support to their loved one in recovery.

As a consultant, my approach is built on a deep understanding that family involvement is vital to the healing process. Rather than focusing solely on the individual client, I center the family's needs, recognizing that by equipping families with education, resources, and emotional support, we not only strengthen the family unit but also provide a foundation for the client’s growth and success.

By addressing the unique dynamics of each family and guiding them through their own learning and development, we create an environment where everyone—clients, patients, and their families—can thrive. I believe that when families are supported, they become powerful allies in the journey toward long-term wellness.

What I Offer

  • Tailored Family Programming: Custom solutions that speak to the specific needs of your clients' families, whether residential or virtual, ensuring they have the tools they need to take better care of themselves and support their loved one effectively.

  • Family Education & Training: Workshops, psychoeducation groups, bespoke resources, and coaching to help families understand the behavioral health challenges their loved ones are facing, and how they can respond in the most nurturing and constructive ways.

  • Staff Training: There is nowhere in behavioral health where countertransference is more evident than in engagement with families. As we work together to build out your family programming, I provide training and support for staff to help them better understand the necessary perspective shifts when interacting with families, how to recognize when an interaction leaves them activated, and how best to seek the supervision, support, and self-care needed to continue to work effectively in a situation that may be triggering.

  • Compassionate Family Support: Continuous guidance for families, helping them navigate difficult emotions and situations, while fostering resilience and connection.

Why Family-Centered Care Matters

Behavioral health outcomes improve dramatically when families are empowered and involved in the recovery process. By offering education and support directly to the family, we create a stable environment that enhances the overall well-being of the identified client. The insights, coping strategies, and tools families gain can help reduce setbacks, create a sustainable support system, and foster a sense of hope for all members.

Together, we can transform the way families engage with behavioral health programs.

By meeting families where they are at and addressing their needs, we are not only enhancing their lives but also making a profound impact on the healing and growth of their loved ones.
